Steel Sand Casting
When the raw material directly forming the mold is mainly sand, and the liquid metal completely fills the entire mold cavity by gravity, the casting method for producing the casting in the sand type is called Steel Sand Casting.
Sand casting materials are abundant in source, production batch and casting size are not limited, and the cost is low. It is the most commonly used casting method. Sand castings currently account for about 90% of the total casting output.

Steel Sand Casting materials should have good fluidity in order to create a complete, clear and accurate sand pattern;
It should have sufficient strength to ensure that the mold is not deformed or destroyed during manufacture, handling and casting;
It should have good gas permeability, which can ensure that the gas is discharged from the liquid metal in time to avoid the occurrence of pore defects in the casting;
It should have a high degree of refractoriness, which can ensure that the molding sand does not melt under the action of high temperature liquid metal, and avoids the occurrence of sticky sand defects in the casting.
