Melting period control
The main task of the melting period is to rapidly melt the solid charge into a homogeneous liquid with minimal power consumption. At the same time of melting of the charge, various physical and chemical reactions occur in the molten pool, mainly including volatilization and oxidation of elements, inhalation of molten steel, transfer and loss of heat, and floating of inclusions. Therefore, the mold precision alloy steel casting melts the slag on the molten steel surface in advance, which can reduce heat dissipation, reduce the amount of molten steel, and promote the floating of inclusions.
The correct operation of the melting period can remove about 60% of the phosphorus in the steel. For low alloy steels, phosphorus is a harmful element in steel. In the smelting process, the phosphorus content in the steel should be minimized. Generally, p<0.030% is required for high-quality steel, and p<0.015% for high-quality steel, and p<0.005% for very special requirements.
